The Best Practices Planning Committee had a fantastic conference planned for this spring. Although we will not be meeting in-person this May we are excited for the programming Mid-America EDC is able to share through the course of upcoming webinars. The first webinar “COVID-19 Impacts to Economic Development in the Mid-America EDC Region” was held April 3. If you were not able to attend, the Mid-America EDC leadership is considering holding another similar webinar soon, due to popular demand. And, we are also working with our valued partners to present additional webinars that will help you navigate through these unprecedented times. Be sure to look for these additional webinar opportunities in your email inbox as they are finalized!
“Changing the Narrative” was the theme for the Flint Best Practices conference. A session touching on the water crisis and strategies for Economic Development Professionals to plan, prepare, and recover from a crisis was set to be a headlining session. With the COVID-19 pandemic it is clear that it is not just one city affected by the crisis, but all of us around the world. That said, we draw strength in you and each other. As Economic Development Professionals we are all resilient, strong, and steadfast; no day is ever the same, we are always thinking on our feet, using the tools at our disposal, and creating new ones along the way to help our community, region, or state be the best that it can. We know that hard work will only continue going forward. Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do.
The mission of Mid-America EDC is to help grow and connect economic development professionals across our 13 state region and we look forward to continually being that resource. Our thoughts go out to everyone at this time – be well, be healthy, and be safe. If you have questions, comments, or information to share please reach us at email@example.com
