How long have you been a member of Mid-America EDC?

Been a member of MAEDC since 2018.

Tell us about yourself! How long have you been on the Mid-America EDC board?

Since November 2022 (so about one year) About me? I enjoy facilitating investment into our community that creates high-quality jobs for our citizens.

Tell us about your organization and your role there.

I’ve been with the DCEDP since March 2016, became director in Jan. 2017. We’re a 501c3 private non-profit that is contracted with the local municipalities & county to lead economic development efforts. We were founded in 2005, and since seen over $1.6B of investment in our county.

What are your economic development specialties?

My specialties include: Advising elected officials with economic development decisions, marketing, entrepreneurial mentorship, local incentive negotiation, and site selection process coordination.

What are your favorite places and things to do in your community?

I enjoy playing golf at both of DeKalb County’s golf courses and many throughout the Northeast Indiana region. My wife’s preferences include walking our dog along the trails in our greater community and visiting one of the counties three wineries for live music. Together we enjoy discovering all the places to eat and spending time at the many local hangouts.

What are some hidden gems in your area people might not know about?

  • Baker’s Dozen Donuts (Auburn) and their hidden speakeasy.
  • Auburn City Steakhouse and the upstairs library room (Auburn)
  • Shorty’s Steakhouse (Garrett)
  • 9th St. Brew (Auburn) for a great cup of coffee!
