Placemaking as Economic Development Strategy

More communities are incorporating placemaking as a tool in their economic development toolbox. Placemaking initiatives promote unique and engaging places that attract and retain residents and workers while also creating an opportunity to cultivate resident and business engagement in and support for community development.  This session will summarize successful strategies for encouraging effective local placemaking efforts, highlight examples of successful initiatives and projects and identify impacts resulting from placemaking projects. Our speakers include representatives from statewide and regional initiatives throughout the Midwest.
