Mid-America EDC leadership encourages your active participation to assist in our mission to be the leading resource for education, making connections, and sharing best practices for economic development professionals in the Midwest region!

 

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee's mission is to recruit new members and retain existing members. If you have questions and/or are interested in serving on this committee, please email Tracey Hogan at tracey@assnoffices.com.

 

Sponsorship Committee

The Sponsorship Committee's mission is to target organizations that would benefit from promoting their organizations via the Mid-America EDC Website and at the two annual conferences.  If you have questions and/or are interested in serving on this committee, please email Tracey Hogan at tracey@assnoffices.com.

 

Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee's mission is to continually advance promotion and communications, including website updates and advancements.  The 2023 Marketing committee co-chairs are Erin Sparks and Wendy Lopez.  If you have questions and/or are interested in serving on this committee, please email Erin Sparks at ESparks@GREnergy.com.

 

Professional Development Committee

The professional development committee creates additional opportunities and partnerships for professional development/education for Mid-America EDC members and assists with securing and moderating monthly free webinars for members.  The 2023 Professional Development committee co-chairs are John Hall and Tina Chitwood.  If you have questions and/or are interested in serving on this committee, please email John Hall at jhall@marshalltown.org.

 

Scholarship Committee

The scholarship committee reviews and selects recipients for the annual Bob Ady Scholarship.  The committee also creates and reviews criteria for nominations and guidelines for selection.  The 2023 Scholarship committee co-chairs are Tim Holverson and Brittany Ashby.  If you have questions and/or are interested in serving on this committee, please email Tim Holverson at tholverson@opchamber.org.

 

Competitiveness Conference Committee

The Competitiveness Conference is held annually in late November/early December and will be held at various metros around the Mid-America region.  The 2023 Competitiveness Conference will be held November 29 - December 1 in Indianapolis.  The 2023 Competitiveness Conference co-chair is Jennifer Klus.  If you have questions and/or are interested in serving on this committee to assist with format, sponsorships, and determination of presenters/topics, please email Jennifer Klus at jklus@dublin.oh.us.

 

Best Practices Conference Committee

The Best Practices Conference is held each spring/summer and rotates among cities in the Mid America EDC region.  The 2023 Best Practices Conference will be hosted by Kansas and Missouri and will be held May 10-12, 2023 in Kansas City.  The 2024 Best Practices Conference will be held in July in South Dakota (dates/location TBD).  If you have questions and/or are interested in serving on either of these committees to assist with format, sponsorships, and determination of presenters/topics, please email Tracey Hogan at tracey@assnoffices.com.

 

Rural Initiatives Committee

The rural initiatives committee's focus/direction is to offer information and resources for rural communities across the Mid-America EDC region - such as targeting trends/education that may benefit Mid-America EDC members.  The 2023 Rural Initiatives committee co-chairs are Jeff Pipkin and Nathan Schneider.  If you have questions and/or are interested in serving on this committee, please email Nathan Schneider at nschneider@bmcedc.com.
