2026 Michael P Hickey Foundation Scholarship Application
To apply, please return a completed application (see below) and a one-page essay that includes:
- A short synopsis of the applicant's background in the field of economic development, as well as information about the applicant's interest in learning more/growing in the economic development profession
- Why this applicant worthy of a scholarship
- Any financial need that your organization has that this scholarship may help to address
Additional consideration will be given to applicants who reach out to one of the board members from their state to advise that they are applying for this year’s scholarship. Each state’s board members can also answer any questions that applicants may have about the Mid-America EDC organization. For consideration for the 2026 Michael P. Hickey Foundation Scholarship, please submit your application no later than May 27, 2026.
The Mid-America Economic Development Council will review all scholarship applications and will contact the selected applicants in July. Scholarship recipients that are selected will be notified with full details. Recipients are eligible to receive a Michael P. Hickey Foundation Scholarship once. Applicants that are not selected are eligible to apply again. Recipients are expected to attend the annual conference and participate in all scholarship-awarded benefits.
