How long have you been a member of Mid-America EDC?

I’ve been a member for about one year.

Tell us about yourself!

I’ve had a fulfilling economic development and sports journey over the past ten years!  Before joining the utility, I worked for the Greater Omaha Chamber and Grow Sarpy Economic Development, where I honed my skills and contributed to significant community growth. Before that, I was involved in economic development in South Dakota (Vermillion Area Chamber) and Kansas (Greater Topeka Partnership), gaining valuable experiences from different parts of the Midwest. Interestingly, before delving into economic development, I had a career as a D1 football player for the University of Wyoming and the University of South Dakota.

How long have you been on the Mid-America EDC board?

I’ve been on the board for less than one year.

What are your economic development specialties?

My economic development specialties revolve around two main areas. Firstly, my experience working for a utility has provided me with in-depth knowledge of electrical infrastructure and energy demands, particularly for high-power users. This expertise allows me to effectively address the energy needs of businesses and industries, contributing to their growth and success.  Secondly, I specialize in enterprise and hyperscale data center projects. The region I work in has witnessed remarkable success in attracting and expanding such data centers, and I have been actively involved in supporting these ventures.

What are your favorite places and things to do in your community? What are some hidden gems people might not know about?

I enjoy spending quality time with my family in downtown Omaha. We enjoy exploring the recently renovated Gene Leahy Mall, immersing ourselves in the fascinating Kiewit Luminarium, and attending captivating concerts at the Hollands Performance Center.

Regarding gems, I highly recommend visiting Prime Steakhouse for an exceptional dining experience in Old Market.  If you have a sweet tooth and are interested in or want some candy nostalgia, make sure to visit Hollywood Candy – I send all my visitors there!
